North American Branch

North American Branch

If you're a member of any North American (US, Canadian, Mexican) college/university community, or want North American universities to be more open, just, engaged with key problems the world faces, and responsive to the public, this branch is for you! Be on the lookout for our upcoming "flash talks" on climate-oriented faculty learning communities, on uni-level climate literacy requirements, and on resisting uncritical AI adoption.

We currently sponsor two main working groups, open to anyone:

Shared governance/campus policy – contact Mary Finley-Brook, mbrook@richmond.edu

• Resisting universities' uncritical adoption of AI – contact Amy Woodhouse-Boulton, amy.woodson-boulton@lmu.edu

To keep in touch, we have an email list (contact derede.arthur@gmail.com to subscribe), and we meet monthly on each third Tuesday, 12-1pm Eastern time; all are welcome (even non-North Americans!). Register for these meetings below, and please share our flyer (above)!
