Resources: Resisting AI and Big Tech
The Climate Justice Universities Union represents all those concerned with the powerful influence of Big Tech within higher ed and the uncritical adoption of AI tools in and out of universities. By promoting AI, we believe higher education institutions are failing in their public good mission to reduce ecological destruction and climate instability. By legitimising the narrative of inevitability, universities around the world appear to be victims of corporate capture by the Big Tech companies. We support all those working to reclaim the public good mission of higher education by resisting AI and advocating against academic capture by Big Tech.
Here is a compilation of resources that aim to help members counter the inevitability narrative and resist AI. See our ClimateUni Statement on AI.
