Injustices at UCD

UCD has contracted with Microsoft for cloud-based services in 2026 as Microsoft's annual emissions increased 25% in 2025 and the company is looking to drop its sustainability pledges in response to AI buildout. Microsoft consumed 37 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity in 2025, up 24 percent from 2024 and enough energy to run 3.4 million U.S. homes for a year.

UCD institution has not formally signed or endorsed the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty even though UCC (2023) and TCD (2026) have.
